Road skills tests are offered to current Legacy Driving Academy students as well as students who have completed their driver's education training at another approved school.

  • Road Skills Test

    Road skills testing consists of an on-the-road evaluation of your knowledge of the basic operation of a vehicle as well as your mastery of driving laws and skills. You must obtain a score of 70 or above to pass. A $20 retake fee will apply if a passing score is not received. Fees for testing are non-refundable. The road test is required to obtain a license from the Office of Motor Vehicles.

    The road test must be taken in the Legacy Driving Academy vehicle and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

TO TAKE THE ROAD SKILLS TEST:

  • If you are 16 years old, you must hold a valid Learner's Permit for at least 180 days.
  • If you are 17 years old, you must present either a Valid Learner's Permit or a Certificate of Completion for the Teen Driver Ed Course.
  • If you are 18 years old or older, you must present a Certificate of Completion for the Adult Pre-Licensing Course.

***A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign consent forms for anyone under 18 taking the road test. If you are physically or mentally handicapped, you must complete your road test at the DMV.
